Cyber – A definition

abbreviated from cyber(netic), from the Greek word kybernetikos(“good at steering”):

  • The communication and controls concerned with automatic control systems, such as the nervous system and brain, and mechanical-electrical communication systems
  • Anything to do with mechanical-electrical communication systems that you don’t really know what it is. Ex. “Hey Jimmy, I’ll trade you my bologna sandwich for your cyber,” or “We continue to see cyber as a key area of need in IT”
  • (Adj): a prefix to describe anything you do…just with the aid of a computer or computer network. Ex. Cyberspace, cybersex, cybersecurity, cyber-bo-byber (bananna-fana-fo), cybereatingabolognasandwich
